From midnight to the early morning of the 8th, China will witness a breathtaking total lunar eclipse, a rare "red moon" will appear in the sky.
The lunar eclipse process is divided into five stages: first contact, total eclipse, greatest eclipse, umbra exit, and total exit. From 23:28 on September 7th, Beijing time, it will enter the penumbral lunar eclipse, and the penumbral lunar eclipse will end at 4:55 on September 8th. The moon will continue to be obscured from first contact to total exit for 3 and a half hours. The period between the total eclipse and the umbra exit is the core viewing stage of the total lunar eclipse, which will begin around 1:31 a.m. on the 8th and end at 2:53 a.m., when the moon will completely enter the Earth's umbra, presenting a dark red color, known as the "red moon".
