On April 5, the cherries in the greenhouses of the Gobi Agricultural Demonstration Zone in Xincheng Village, Xincheng Town, are nearing ripeness. Farmers are intensifying field management to ensure a stable harvest and increased income.
In recent years, Xincheng Village has tailored its development to local conditions, vigorously expanding Gobi agriculture by encouraging farmers to grow high-value vegetables and fruits. In 2024, a new variety of cherries was introduced from Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province. Thanks to meticulous care by professional growers, the first harvest is expected to mature and hit the market by late April. This initiative not only boosts agricultural efficiency and farmers' incomes but also contributes to rural revitalization.
