The city started the declaration of Grass Lake National Wetland Park in 2012, and formally launched the ecological restoration and related infrastructure construction of Grass Lake Wetland Park in 2013. at the end of 2018, it officially passed the acceptance of wetland park by the State Forestry Administration, and became the first national natural and ecological wetland park in the city, as well as one of the 12 national wetland parks in our province.

The vegetation in Grass Lake Wetland is dominated by sandy plants and aquatic plant communities, with 4 vegetation type groups, 6 vegetation types and 22 major clusters, and 66 species of wild higher plants of 25 families and 48 genera; and 142 species of wild animals of 27 orders and 49 families, with birds in the majority.
Nowadays, the Grass Lake National Wetland Park is ushering in another period of development. The total investment of this wetland park project is about 110 million yuan, and the project is divided into six major items and 27 minor items: wetland experience park, wetland power supply facilities renovation, water system management, vegetation restoration, management service area construction, wetland park management and environmental protection sign procurement, and all the works are expected to be completed in 2024. The construction of the project takes the protection of good ecological environment of the wetland and diversified wetland landscape resources as the main theme, focuses on the protection and restoration of the core area, and at the same time, takes the popularization of wetland science and education, the utilization of wetland functions, and the promotion of wetland culture as the theme, and assists the construction of a certain scale of tourism and recreational facilities outside the park, so that it can be built into a natural eco-type park integrating eco-protection and eco-tourism, and can fully satisfy the various needs of tourists, and It will increase the comfort and interest of touring and continuously improve the reception capacity and service level of the scenic spot.
