On September 11, the basketball match of the Fifth Staff Games of the province was opened in Jiayuguan Gymnasium. Fifty-six teams from the Federation of Trade Unions of all cities and states in the province, trade unions of Lanzhou New District, trade unions of provincial industries (systems), trade unions of provincial systems, and trade unions of large enterprises took part in the competition. The tournament has two programs: men's five-a-side basketball and women's five-a-side basketball. They were held synchronously in Jiayuguan Gymnasium, the main venue, and in the City Convention and Exhibition Center, Comprehensive Pavilion, and Training Hall of Sports School, the sub-venues.
