They got to know and understand Jiayuguan through the Ironman Triathlon until they fell in love with Jiayuguan.
Cai Li, a Chinese American, said, "This is the first time I come to Jiayuguan to participate in the triathlon, and I have participated in many races every year since 2014, so I am very happy to be able to come to Jiayuguan to participate in the race for the first time, and I am very excited. More than ten years ago I came to Jiayuguan to play once, did not participate in any competition, that time compared with now is completely unrecognizable. After I came here, except for some attractions that are still similar to the original, the face of the city has changed a lot, so I'm very happy to come here to see the humanities and taste the food here, and I hope to enjoy the competition tomorrow."
Chinese-American Cai Kewen said, "I grew up swimming and have always participated in swimming competitions, and then I was influenced by my dad and wanted to participate in triathlons. I've practiced cycling a little bit, and I've participated in four triathlons in total. This is the first time I've been to Jiayuguan and the first time I've competed in a triathlon in a city in China, so I'm pretty excited about it, and it's nice to be here and have the opportunity to compete with different athletes. The barbecue we had yesterday was delicious and it was nice to visit the city tower."
British athlete Benjamin said, "My name is Benjamin, I am from the UK and I have participated in many triathlons before. This is my first time to Jiayuguan."
Wei Jiaqing, a Canadian Chinese, said, "This is the first time I have participated in a triathlon race above 1600m above sea level. I think the hosting level of this event is very high, the locals are particularly enthusiastic, and the food is particularly delicious. Congratulations to all of you for your good results, and I hope the race gets better and better."
