Along the way, No. 2 middle school has undergone great changes for more than 50 years. In 2018, the teaching building and experimental building of Junior Middle School of No. 2 middle school were identified as "C" dangerous buildings through safety testing. The original classroom area is small and the function is single, which can not meet the basic standard for running compulsory education schools, which has seriously restricted the balanced development of compulsory education.
No matter how tight the funds are, we can't tighten education! In recent years, the municipal Party committee and the municipal government have always attached great importance to the development of education and regarded education as the biggest people's livelihood. It is based on this that in 2020, the comprehensive teaching building construction project of the second middle school was determined as one of the key people's livelihood construction projects by the municipal government, and the bidding was completed on September 15 of that year.
The reporter learned that the comprehensive teaching building construction project of the city's second middle school is to demolish the original junior middle school teaching building and experimental building of about 5000 square meters, and build a comprehensive teaching building with a construction area of 12142.6 square meters on the original site, with a total investment of 41.6946 million yuan.
At 10:00 a.m. on September 13, the reporter came to the hot project site and saw that in the open space in front of the high school building, with the majestic sound of the national anthem, more than 1000 teachers and students lined up in order to sing the national anthem and pay attention to the ceremony. The bright five-star red flag slowly rose in the campus... All of them let people feel the pulse of the growth of the school. A year ago, it was an old teaching building. It seems that the towering teaching building rises from the ground overnight. In fact, every brick and tile of the new No. 2 middle school embodies the painstaking efforts and sweat of countless construction personnel.
Time goes back to September 2020. In the roar of the machine, the construction project team of No. 2 middle school was established and put on the safety helmet. It seems that the school leaders have also become construction workers, looking at the drawings and keeping an eye on the progress. A year later, the main body of the project has been capped, and the main body acceptance has been completed on the first and second floors.
Yang Minghong, the person in charge of the construction site of the comprehensive teaching building of No. 2 middle school, recalled that since the commencement of the construction, the project team of No. 2 middle school has determined the time limit requirements for the formal operation, inverted the construction period, wall chart operation, and worked overtime on the construction site almost every day to ensure the completion of the project on schedule.
Yang Minghong said that at present, the capping of the main body of the project has been completed on August 5, and the construction of indoor wall masonry, window installation, fire pipeline installation and indoor terrazzo is under way. It is planned to be completed and put into use in July 2022. Up to now, the funds in place are 27.58 million yuan, and 1998 million yuan has been paid according to the project progress.
"This project embodies the concept of green, environmental protection and energy conservation everywhere." Wang Changhui, the project director and Jiayuguan Engineering Construction Supervision Co., Ltd., told reporters that all ground materials, wall materials, wall decorations, pipes, paints and lighting facilities of the school adopt natural environmental protection building materials, which are non-toxic, harmless and free of bad volatile gases, so as to truly save energy, reduce consumption and no pollution. While not damaging the aesthetic feeling of the space, the school innovatively adopts the design of glass curtain wall and GRC calcium silicate board of exterior wall on the facade, and adopts hollow floor in the construction, so as to achieve the effect of good daylighting, less noise, light weight and good appearance.
The reporter learned that from the construction concept to the teaching building design, from the comfortable and high-end classroom environment to the functional classrooms with complete facilities and strong sense of design, the school shows the great attention of the municipal Party committee and the municipal government, as well as the painstaking efforts of the competent departments and the project team of the second municipal middle school.
Wang Changhui told reporters that in order to improve the seismic fortification level of buildings, the comprehensive teaching building of No. 2 middle school of the city adopts isolation bearings between the foundation and the main body. Once an earthquake occurs, the bearing will produce large horizontal displacement and deformation, which can dissipate a large amount of seismic energy to reduce the impact on the superstructure, so as to achieve the purpose of "moving houses do not move" during earthquake. With this technology, the building can resist M 8 earthquake.

President Tang peikan told reporters that the comprehensive teaching building is designed as a "Hui" shaped four storey building, which greatly improves the plot ratio and increases the available space. After the project is completed, the use area is 2.5 times that before demolition, which will fundamentally alleviate the tense situation of the school buildings of No. 2 middle school. At the same time, the campus greening area has also increased by more than 3000 square meters. The teaching area has 20 ordinary classrooms, 4 special classrooms, moral education exhibition hall, etc; There are 11 physics, chemistry, biology and comprehensive laboratories and one academic lecture hall in the experimental area; The art district has dance, music, computer cloud classroom and network center, teacher's office, digital exploration laboratory, general technology classroom, recording and broadcasting classroom, etc.
