Recently, at the 44th UNESCO World Heritage conference held in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, six reports on the protection of world cultural heritage in China were adopted, including "Silk Road: the road network of Chang'an Tianshan corridor", "Potala Palace historical buildings", "Macao historical city", "Zuojiang Huashan rock painting cultural landscape", "Wudang Mountain ancient buildings" and "Jiayuguan Great Wall". Among them, the Jiayuguan Great Wall was rated as a model case of protection and management by the World Heritage Committee. This is the second time that China's world heritage protection and management has won this honor after the Grand Canal in 2018.

        In its resolution, the world heritage committee spoke highly of the positive and effective measures taken by the Chinese government in the protection of the Great Wall, so that the outstanding universal values of the heritage have been properly protected. At the same time, we appreciate the efforts and achievements made by the Chinese government in promoting the construction of the Great Wall National Cultural Park, promulgating and implementing the master plan for the protection of the Great Wall, as well as in public communication and promotion, capacity-building of heritage sites, special protection legislation, application of modern science and technology, international exchanges and cooperation, and alleviating the pressure of tourism.
        A total of 255 reports on the protection of world heritage were considered at the conference, and only three World Heritage won the protection and management demonstration cases. The Jiayuguan Great Wall is the only cultural heritage project, and the other two are the natural heritage Tay National Park and Comoe National Park in C ô te d'Ivoire.
The Great Wall Protection and management practice has contributed fruitful "Chinese experience" and "Chinese wisdom" to the protection of giant linear cultural heritage and series heritage in various countries.
