Chinese Triathlon Association 2021 Event Schedule

Tip:
Triathlon is a new sport that combines swimming, cycling and running. It tests the strength and will of the athletes. The triathlon was born in the United States in the 1970s. In 1994, it was listed as an Olympic sport by the International Olympic Committee. In 2000, the triathlon made its debut at the Sydney Olympics.
The highest organization of triathlon is the International Triathlon Union, which was founded in 1989 and headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. [3] The highest triathlon organization in China is the China Triathlon Association, which was founded in 1990 and is headquartered in Beijing.

The rules of the game
There are three types of triathlons: short distance (swimming 0.75 km, cycling 20 km, running 5 km), Olympic distance (swimming 1.5 km, cycling 40 km, running 10 km), and long distance (swimming 4 km, cycling 130 km, running 30 km). During the race, the athletes shall, in accordance with the regulations, continuously carry out the swimming stage, swimming to cycling change, cycling stage, cycling to running change and running stage, until they reach the finish line and finish the race.
Swimming stage: swimmers may swim in any stroke (usually freestyle) along a triangular course marked by buoys and ropes. Athletes may tread water or float, or stand on the bottom or hold a stationary object to rest. Any runner who does not follow the prescribed route and cuts short the race will be disqualified. If a swimmer commits a foul in the swimming race, he or she will be fined to stop for 30 seconds after the swimming race.
Bicycle stage: after disembarking from the water, the rider must immediately switch to the bicycle course. The whole course must be completed by bicycle, using the designated special bicycle frame. After completing the cycle stage, the bike will be put back to the original frame. Athletes must get on and off the bike in the designated area or at the starting line, and must not ride in the change area. Before the race, the referee will inspect the vehicles and helmets of all competitors. During the race, the athletes must ride in accordance with the prescribed direction of the course, and must not block, affect the cycling of other riders or overtake. If there is a problem with a tyre, the athlete can take the car and run to the change station to have it changed. The rider must wear a helmet to ensure safety from the time the bike is removed from the rack until the stage is completed and the bike is put back on the rack.
Running Stage: Runners must complete the race on their feet. You can run or walk, but you can't crawl. The medical director of the event shall have the right to request an athlete to stop the competition if he/she considers that his/her physical condition has become undesirable or that he/she is incapacited.
During a race, the time it takes for an athlete to change from swimming to cycling or cycling to running is critical. There is no stopping other athletes or infringing on other people's equipment within the change area. Athletes must get on and off the bike in the designated area or at the starting line, and must not ride in the change area. Nudity or improper exposure is prohibited, and competitors have 30 seconds to complete the change.

During the competition, the athletes should not obstruct or hinder each other, let alone vicious competition and make dangerous actions. The referee may show a yellow card if you commit a foul in a cycling or long distance race. At this point the player must stop the game and wait for a warning from the referee before continuing. Serious or repeated fouls result in a player being sent off the field with a red card. Two yellow cards accumulate and result in a red card, which is automatically sent off. The rules encourage referees to give proactive warnings during games to prevent fouls. But they do not have to warn the offending player before the first yellow card is issued. Of course, the point of the rules is to ensure that the game runs smoothly, and the less the referee intervenes, the better. Athletes who break the rules will be warned, disqualified, suspended or banned from competition.

Finishing Ranking and Result: The finishing time of each athlete shall include swimming time, cycling time, running time and total time.

Remarks: China Triathlon Association's sequential event plan (league and series event plan) will be updated successively. Please pay attention.
