The Jiayuguan Municipal Library has a building area of 10,858 square meters and was officially opened to the public in September 2015. The new library has a total collection of 340,000 books and more than 1,200 leisure seats. More than 7,000 precious historical and cultural books with local characteristics have been collected. The library has 11 external service windows and implements an open management model with open-shelf literature and integrated borrowing-reading pattern, providing readers with basic functions such as reader services, reference consultation, electronic information retrieval, and online booking and renewal.
